Studio Program 2016-17

We are proud to offer excellence in classical dance technique training whether you’re just starting out, looking for a home or wanting to supplement your dance training.

The best way to tell whether our studio fits your needs and interests is to come try a class.  We look forward to helping you choose the right class for your free trial and our teachers will help make the right placement at the end of that class. Please arrive at least 10 minutes early so we can take care of paperwork and introduce you to the teacher.  You will be taking part in the class so please come dressed to dance.

Discovery Dance

This class is for young beginner dancers ages 3 through Kindergarten. Discover introduces a fun, creative, inventive way to the discipline of ballet and other dance styles. The focus will be on stretching, musicality, movement and the basic instruction and knowledge needed to move on to the more structured classes starting with Level 1.

Levels 1 and 2

Beginning students, typically 1st through 4th graders, will start to be taught a solid foundation in ballet technique and in other dance styles. Ballet will be strongly encouraged.  We suggest that Level 2 students take at least 2 classes per week

Level 3

Intermediate Level, typically will be 3rd through 6th graders, depending on skill level. The class is structured to continue developing and perfecting a solid foundation with increased difficulty. Point work will be introduced at this level.  Level 3 students are strongly encouraged to take at least 2 classes per week.

Levels 4 and 5

Intermediate to Advanced, dancers will continue increasing the challenges of ballet and dance technique. Point work will be increased and emphasized. Variations will be introduced from the classical ballet repertoire.

Pre-Professional Training

Is by audition or invitation only. It is designed to help prepare students who want to pursue a professional career in ballet and dance or wish to have a more intense, detailed training to get ready for a college dance program. Students will be required to take the full program. The curriculum includes technique, point, classical variations, contemporary and organized pas de deux classes.

Teen/Adult Ballet

This ballet class is open to anyone who would like to learn and exercise using the challenges of ballet technique. It is an enjoyable beginner/intermediate level class taught by Tina Kay Bohnstedt.

Monday Evenings from 7:30pm-8:30pm. $15 drop in fee.

Dress Code

For this first class, our dress code is flexible.

The following is what our students wear on an ongoing basis:
  • Discovery Classes – Same as ballet attire .
  • Ballet – Girl’s attire is black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, and hair in bun. Boy’s attire is white shirt, black tights or black shorts, and black ballet shoes.
  • Contemporary and Jazz – Same as ballet attire or black tights, jazz pants or dance shorts. Jazz shoes, ballet shoes, foot undies, or barefoot depending on teacher’s preference.
  • Hip Hop– Athletic wear and tennis shoes
  • AdultsBallet or Jazz shoes can be worn at this class.
